Fact #145
Overview:
In today’s fact we learn about Tornadoes! Mr. Toes teaches us how big tornadoes can get and helps a passerby with some directions.
The Fact a Day:
Did you know that…The average width of a tornado’s funnel is around 300-500 yards, but can be as wide as 2.5 miles(4KM). That is 44 football fields wide! Winds can reach up to 300mph (482kph), however most funnel clouds usually last less than 10 minutes before dissipating, some only last a few seconds. It’s extremely rare for one to last an hour or more.
