Fact #143
Overview:
In today’s fact we learn about Lobsters! Mr. Toes teaches us how lobsters go to the bathroom and communicate with each other.
The Fact a Day:
Did you know that…Lobsters pee out of the front of their faces! The urine nozzles are located under their eyes, and is believed that because a lobster enters its shelter backwards for defensive purposes, peeing out of their heads is the most direct route for urine to reach the water around them to signal other lobsters of danger or for mating. Peeing on another lobster sends messages necessary for survival.
