In today’s fact we learn about Crackers! Mr. Toes teaches us why, and where the cracker as we know it today was invented.

The Fact a Day:
Did you know that…The first Cracker was made in 1792 by John Pearson in Newburyport, Massachusetts USA. Pearson was trying to invent a type of biscuit that would last longer than the traditional sailor’s biscuit without spoiling. He mixed flour, water, baked it and called it Pearson’s Pilot Bread. Later known as hardtack or a sea biscuit.
