In today’s fact we learn about Chinese New Year! Mr. Toes teaches us about what Chinese New Year is and how its celebrated.
The Fact a Day:
中国新年 – Chinese New Year begins on the first day of the New Moon and ends on the 15th day of the new year. Known as the Spring Festival, there are many fun traditions such as the lighting firecrackers, lion dances & the giving of red envelopes filled with money. The most important event is New Years Eve known as the reunion dinner where family come home and a large feast is served. Jiaozi (Dumplings) or Niangao (Glutinous Cake) are commonly eaten.
